This is a collection of works mainly for violin by Isidora Jebeljan (1967-2020), one of Serbia's most outstanding and internationally acclaimed composers. A passionate portrait of Balkan-rooted music by Jebeljan, who was born in Belgrade and grew up in the borderlands of Romania, Serbia, and Hungary, as well as chamber and orchestral works, including homages to Mozart, Mahler, Messiaen, and others, is presented by Challenge Classics, led by Daniel Rowland. Challenge Classics' selected artists, led by Daniel Roland, will present The renowned Dutch/British violinist Daniel Roland was the first violinist of the Brodsky String Quartet, one of the UK's leading string quartets, for 11 years from 2007, and has enjoyed an illustrious career as a soloist, chamber musician, and conductor. He has built an international reputation as a charismatic and adventurous performer.In recent years, he has performed with renowned conductors such as Holliger, Zweden, and Lotto, and in 2023 he toured Europe as soloist and conductor of the EU Youth Orchestra. An avid supporter of contemporary concertos, he has been dedicated works by composers such as Vasks, R.
