The performance of Obrecht's Mass "Maria zart" took nearly an hour. Taking nearly an hour to perform, Obrecht's "Maria zart" was one of the largest and most ambitious works of its time. Its complex Renaissance notation is extremely difficult to understand systematically and to revive in the present day. The recordings that already exist differ from one another. After careful research, preparation, and a pandemic, a session recording was finally made in 2022. Please enjoy this masterpiece of the art of counterpoint performed at the highest level.
