Description:
Listen to Violinist Zweden! The sharp "Four Seasons" is back, and Zweden is now famous as a conductor. He was appointed concert master of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra in 1979 at the age of just 19, a post he held until 1995. This disc is a re-release of a 1990 recording with the Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, an ensemble of modern instruments with ancient techniques. The soloist's sharp and sharp "Four Seasons," with its needle-like sharpness, is impressive. This valuable disc shows that Zweden was also skilled in playing old music. The coupling consists of three string works without solos. RV.130, a gentle and soft fugue; RV.157, a chaconne with chromatic descending bass; and RV.163, a humorous "concha" reminiscent of a conch.
