The CD COLLECTION 1971-1975" is a 5-CD collection that compiles all 5 studio albums released by the band between 1971 and 1975, which made the band War a unique and original force in the American music scene.
Born in Long Beach, California in 1969, War is a legendary street band that continues to revolutionize the world with its eclectic lineup and musicality that crosses over genres such as soul, jazz, Latin, funk, R&B, and rock. The band has broken down racial barriers through their music, gained a wide range of fans, and became one of the leaders of the West Coast funk scene along with Tower of Power and Sly & the Family Stone. The group has undergone several member changes, but continues to be led by keyboardist Ronnie Jordan, who has supported the group from the beginning.In February of this year, they came to Japan to perform at Blue Note Tokyo, and it is still fresh in our minds that they gave a wonderful performance that captivated the audience gathered there with their best performance.
This year marks the double anniversary of the band's 55th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the release of their 1975 masterpiece "WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS? As part of this celebration, they are releasing "THE CD COLLECTION 1971-1975," a 5-CD collection commemorating their unwavering legacy. (1/2)
