Like "Absinthe," sweet, dangerous, and beautiful, Dominic Miller, fascinated by Impressionism, plays with his friends in a colorful world of sound. This is the second ECM album in two years by Dominic Miller, a guitarist who has not only performed with Paul Simon, the Chieftans, and Placido Domingo, but also co-written and performed on one of Sting's most famous songs, "Shape of My Heart," for which he has been the guitarist for many years. Miller became fascinated with impressionism in the south of France, where he now resides. Miller says, "Absinthe" - the forbidden drink - must have driven many Impressionist artists to madness with its strong alcohol, violent hangovers, and the strong sun and winds of the South of France, a unique climate. The sky, with its green and blue colors and perspective, must have driven many Impressionist artists to madness. A tribute to 20th century impressionist artists.While the previous album "Silent Night" was a solo guitar-oriented work that paid homage to Egberto Gismonti, Pat Metheny, and others, this album features a sound that brings colors and scenes to life, featuring Santiago Arias on bandoneon, Manu Kache on drums, a long-time friend of Sting's band, Mike Lindup on keyboards who adds sparkle and a sense of floating to the music, and Nicholas Fitzman on bass. This 180g vinyl LP features a colorful and evocative sound, and is produced by the band's splendid members: Santiago Arias on bandoneon, Manu Kache on drums, Mike Lindup on keyboards, and bassist Nicholas Fitzman, who adds sparkle and a sense of floating to the music.
