Previously unreleased live recording by the trio of Jan Garbarek, Egbert Gismonti and Charlie Haden. Recorded in April 1981 at the America House in Munich, this is one of the few previously unreleased recordings of ECM's live concerts at the America House, which were held in the 1970s and 1980s and have only been released in a limited number of recordings. This is one of those rare recordings. This is one of those rare recordings. The total running time is approximately 108 minutes, and it is a 2-CD set. This is an international collaboration, unique to ECM, featuring Scandinavian Coltrane-saxophonist Jan Garbarek, Brazilian guitarist/pianist Noegberto Gismonti, and American bass player Charlie Haden. This live performance was recorded at the end of a two-year tour following "Magico" and "Folk Songs," two albums recorded in 1979 with the trio as Charlie Haden's leader, and features an ironclad, polished trio ensemble that is a joy to listen to.Garbarek says, "It was like opening a time capsule to be able to listen to that performance for the first time in 30 years. This is the first time that the Charlie Haden composition "All That Is Beautiful" has been recorded.
