In the early 1970s, television was an essential tool in bringing musicians into homes, and Zappa set up a touring light show and stage set at The Mothers' Private Rehearsal Hall in an attempt to produce footage for his own television productions. Zappa also set up a tour light show and stage set in The Mothers' Private Rehearsal Hall. Eventually, Zappa considered selling the footage to a major network, but technical difficulties arose. Ultimately, the footage was put in storage. Fifty years later, thanks to advances in post-production editing tools, we are pleased to present "Cheaper Than Cheep. This previously unreleased two-hour concert footage of the most intimate performance by members of The Mothers in 1974 has been lovingly revived and recorded directly from the original vault audio tape masters that have been restored. This special limited super deluxe edition includes a Blu-ray with the concert video remastered in the latest Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround sound, and stereo mixes, a 2-CD set and 3-LP set (on 180-gram black vinyl), and a large booklet with rare and previously unpublished photos and liner notes by Ruth The set comes with a large booklet featuring rare and previously unpublished photographs and liner notes by Underwood and Joe Travers, and is packaged in a telescoping slipcase.
