Louis Armstrong, aka Satchmo, whose song "On The Sunny Side of The Street" was a big hit again in Japan this year, has released his first official Christmas album, including his last recording before his death. More than 50 years after his death in 1971, the legendary Louis Armstrong continues to be loved by many people around the world, and this year he was featured prominently in a TV drama. This album includes his famous holiday songs such as "Winter Wonderland" and "White Christmas," winter-themed standards such as "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm," as well as his signature Satchmo song, "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm," which was released before his death. The album also includes a wealth of songs perfect for Christmas, such as "This Wonderful World," one of Satchmo's best-known songs. The album also includes a track in which Satchmo himself reads "A Visit from St. Nicholas," a poem known in Japanese as "The Day Before Christmas. This is a completely unreleased recording, and was the last time he recorded it before his death, making it extremely valuable.The new piano accompaniment by Sullivan Fortner has been added to the original recording. This is the first new Satchmo estate-approved recording in more than 20 years, and it is a rare track. Louis Armstrong had such a special feeling about Christmas that he always brought a Christmas tree that could be placed on the table while on tour. The cover features Satchmo dressed as Santa Claus and playing the trumpet, making this a gentle Christmas album that will warm your body and soul on a cold night. Also released on picture vinyl.
