Jazz pianist/composer/bandleader Dave Brubeck, best known for "Take Five," releases his final solo recording! This final solo album by the inimitable musician showcases his signature improvisations on well-known children's songs, standards, and original compositions. Recorded when Dave was 91 years old, this is a gift to his grandchildren and his last studio recording of famous children's songs, standards, and originals - his playing, ingenuity, and sincerity are the hallmarks of the great Brubeck recordings, and all are on full display on this album. It features both covers and originals, and will appeal to existing jazz fans and fans of Dave Brubeck. At the time of recording, he commented on his expectations for the project and the compilation. 'Some of the melodies on this album sound like familiar tunes.
