OMEGA, formed in 1962, has been one of the top bands in the Hungarian Rock scene for over 60 years. The live performance was held on September 4, 1999 at Nepstadion, a huge stadium in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, in front of an audience estimated to be as many as 55,000 people from all over Europe. In addition to the six members of the band/touring band at that time, Janos Kobor (vo), Laszlo Benko (key), Gyorgy Molnar (g), Tamas Mihaly (b), Ferenc Debreczeni (drs), and Szekeres Tamas (g), Jozsef Laux (drs), Gabor Presser (key), Tamas Somlo (vo) and other former members, as well as Zsolt Gomory (key), Keresztes Ildiko (vo), Poka Egon (b) and a total of nine other musicians as guests. Gomory (key), Keresztes Ildiko (vo), and Poka Egon (b).The album opens grandly with "Addig elj", a classic live song, and then moves on to the psychedelic/beat rock period of their debut with "Egy lany nem ment haza" and "Szeretnek Visszamenni Hozzad", the "Szvit" suite from "OMEGA 5" (1973), the sympho period of the late 70's, songs from "AZ ARC" with punk/new wave elements, and songs from their 4th album "200 EVVEL AZ UTOLSO HABORU UTAN", which is a phantom. The gorgeous setlist summarizes the history of OMEGA with hit songs and representative songs from each period, including the sympho period, songs from "AZ ARC" that incorporated elements of punk/new wave, and even the title track from the fantastic 4th album "200 EVVEL AZ UTOLSO HABORU UTAN". The set list is truly something for the fans! This is a great live show that can be recommended as an introduction to the band, with a dynamic performance that transcends the studio takes and incorporates the enthusiasm of the audience.
