He is a giant of the piano.It boasts a vast repertoire ranging from rare works such as the piano works of Emil von Sauer, Liszt's late great brother (6 volumes) and the piano concertos of unknown Danish composers (4 volumes) to masterpieces of the Romantic era by Brahms, Schubert, Liszt, Chopin, Mendelssohn and others, He is also the (perhaps the only) artist to have recorded all of the works for piano and orchestra by the great Russian composers (Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Shostakovich). Following Ravel's third volume of solo piano works, this album is an important collection of Scriabin's early piano works and a remarkable first recording of "Piano Sonata No. 1" for Marshev.
