On his own albums, he has intermingled the beautiful musicality of Scandinavia with the frontline jazz of Brooklyn, New York, creating a unique world that has never existed before with Paul Motian. This album pushes his previous work forward and the result is a high quality and pleasant work. The quality and density of the rhythms by Paul Motian and Ben Street, the beautiful singing backed by the technique of Bill Frisell and Jacob Bro, and the lovely, haunting tone of the music, all add to the new color to this album. And Lee Konitz is the new color of this work. The delicate and bold phrases make you sigh with each note.
