A new remarkable recording of Mozart's "Requiem," a masterpiece of Mozart's lifetime, in a highly combustible live performance of one of the most famous works of all time. The texture of the orchestra is truly unique. The orchestra was performed by "Il Gardelino," a long-established instrumental group in Belgium that gathers together the best wind instrumentalists, and the wind instruments were very well rounded. Mozart employed an unusual composition of basset horn, bassoon, trumpet, and trombone for the wind section of "Requiem," which is darker in tone, and this performance is a perfect embodiment of this acoustic effect. The woodwinds have a solid weight and presence, while the brass is sometimes played with an earth-shaking intensity, and each breath of each phrase has as much life as a song. The strings are also full of energy at all times, and the high-density performance shows that the score by Jussmeier's assistant is flawless. The soloists and choir are also very talented, and the "Domine Jesu," with its many layers of sound painted on one after another, is particularly vivid.The passion of the live performance combined with the heat of the concert, and the vocal and instrumental music converged like a great river toward the end of the performance, and the great music flowed endlessly.
