A very rare analog reissue of "Soul Of Africa" by Jeff Gilson, one of the most important figures in French jazz, and Hal Singer, known for his killer rare groove works, a superb piece of French jazz from the 70s! Originally released in 1974, "Soul Of Africa" is one of the best French Jazz albums of the 70's and is very popular among music lovers who explore spiritual jazz, rare groove, avant-garde, and interesting music. The "Libertarian" is a killer afro-jazz tune with a fantastic and floating performance over indigenous rhythms that give off the smell of the earth; "Garvey's Strut" has a dusky bass line, tight drums, and lush piano like a drop of water bursting through, accompanied by a saxophone; and "Kata-Kata-Kata" is a jazz tune with a "springy" beat and a "clattering" sound. The "mother africa" has an interesting rhythmic sense that is difficult to understand, in the best sense of the word, as if a spring-loaded puppet is moving.
