Smoke & Air" - British Experimental Music TodayAvant-garde music and experimental music may influence each other, but they are different. Although British contemporary music today seems to have been completely swallowed up by the European avant-garde scene, this album reminds us that "British experimental music" is still alive and well, where each person does what he or she wants to do on his or her own without associating with anyone else. The British contemporary music scene has always been dominated by Birdwhistle, Ferneyhough, Nassen, George Benjamin, and even(?) Dai Fujikura. The British contemporary music world has always been dominated by academic avant-garde groups with an awareness of continental Europe, such as Birdwillow, Ferneyhough, Nassen, George Benjamin, and even(?) Dai Fujikura. However, there are some composers who do not care about such things and just listen to their own sounds in their garages or in underground studios somewhere. This disc contains recent works by such composers. The booklet does not list their birth years, but they seem to be of the young and middle generation. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of unknown talents will pop up on this disc. Tobu Land System
