Embers," the opening track and lead single from Revanchist, epitomizes Christ's penchant for the complete annihilation of trance's default effects. The soaring, rapturous explosion of sound combines beautifully with a storm of indecipherable noise, mangled 808s, and gospel house a cappella shrapnel. Revanchist, the follow-up to 2020's "Ultra" single, is a groundbreaking debut for Warp that showcases Evian's newfound talent for abstract and subversive sound-making.The album boldly incorporates influences from the Empty Set of the "Demiurge" era, William Orbit-produced Madonna's "Ray Of Light" and Laibach's "Across the Universe," and combines them into one piece through a highly stylized approach to mixing and sound design inspired by DJ Sacha's "Xpander EP. Xpander EP-inspired mixing and sound design, and then brings it all together in a highly stylized approach. The album artwork for Revanchist was designed by longtime collaborator and world-renowned graphic designer David Rudnick and features the work of 19th century Norwegian landscape painter Lars Hertelvig and British video artist Chris Bucklow. Featuring the work of Bucklow, the LP will be limited to an initial production of only 1,000 copies and will be packaged in a screen-printed outer bag with the LP in an inner sleeve and a poster printed on both sides.
