MOTHER MOTHER, a Canadian alternative rock band featuring mixed male and female vocals, was formed in the early 2000s and has been active mainly in the Canadian indie scene. They became a streaming hit on TikTok in 2020. In 2021, they made their major label debut with Warner Records and released their second major label album. GRIEF CHAPTER" is their ninth studio album.The sound world created by MOTHER MOTHER combines the sometimes heavy, sometimes dark rock sound with a sharp industrial edge, and the male and female vocals of Ryan, Molly Guldemond, and Jasmin Parkin. The themes that run throughout the album are life, death, grief, and the freedom that comes from accepting the inevitable--all seemingly heavy themes, but the band magically creates a sense of floating through their complex and light lyricism.
