Description:

Rediscover the genius of Mendelssohn's compositions! A 40-CD box containing Warner's masterful performances of his major works, offering all the characteristics of his works as they are heard and elucidated by each individual Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809-1847), a child prodigy, showed great musical talent from an early age and is considered one of the greatest European composers of all time He is regarded as one of the greatest composers in Europe. Born on February 3, 1809 to a wealthy and culturally prominent Jewish family, Mendelssohn showed exceptional musical talent from an early age. His parents provided him with a well-rounded education that included music, language, and the arts. His early works and performances, including symphonies and chamber music, astounded audiences, and he was compared to Mozart for his extraordinary talent. He studied music with prominent music teachers and composers, including Carl Friedrich Zelter and Ludwig Berger, a pupil of Clementi. He spent time in Berlin and Leipzig, where he became involved in the city's music scene. Mendelssohn's family converted to Christianity when he was a child, and he himself was baptized in a Lutheran church. He married Cecil Jeanneau in 1837 and they had five children before he died in Leipzig on November 4, 1847, at the age of 38. Mendelssohn was known for his role in bridging the gap between Classical structures and Romantic expressiveness. Some of his most famous works include the Violin Concerto, the Italian Symphony, Fingal's Cave, the Silent Songs, and the "Wedding March" from A Summer Night's Dream. He produced a number of works that are still widely known today, and he also had a major impact on 19th century music with his revival of Bach's music and the founding of the Leipzig Conservatory of Music. His compositional genius has a prolific and very diverse body of work that deserves rediscovery, and this boxed set offers Mendelssohn's masterpieces and lesser-known works, performed by one of his successors as conductor of the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Kurt Mazur, the Alban Berg Quartet, Marie= Claire Alain, Michel Corbo, and other master musicians offer a panorama of Mendelssohn's genius. The paper cover of each CD features a painting by a painter who lived at the same time as Mendelssohn. Warner Music Japan
