His extraordinary touch and sense of phrasing, his deep and incisive interpretations of the most varied repertoire, and the legendary trio he formed with Jacques Thibaud and Pablo Casals made Alfred Cortot the greatest pianist of his time. Many of his pupils, especially the brilliant Dinu Lipatti, Samson François, and Clara Haskil, also had a profound influence on the Russian piano school through Samuil Feinberg and Genrich Neigaus. These rare recordings of this exceptional pianist, who spoke with romantic and fantastic poetry, were remastered by ART & SON STUDIO in 2012 using the best original masters under the supervision of John Guthrie Luke, a student of Cortot's and a participant in many of his recording sessions. The box specification has been changed to 2-piece box, each CD is stored in a paper jacket.
