The World of Purcell's Exquisite Beauty by a Competition of Promising Young Singers Les Zargonauts, an ancient music group based in Geneva. Founded by conductor Jonas d'Escoto, the group is likened to the heroes of the Argo, the first ship in history to set sail in search of the Golden Fleece in Greek mythology. Their new recording is Purcell's only complete opera, Dido and Aeneas. Written by the 30-year-old, it is full of dramatic and beautiful melodies. The young singers Camille Allerer, Julie Rollet, and Antea Pishanic, all of whom have attracted much attention in recent years, show their artistic prowess and provide a blissful experience. The coupling is "Kirke," a piece of incidental music from the same period. This is another fresh interpretation. King International
