Description:
Bach's enigmatic works with the divine work of Gottfried von der Goltz! Baroque violinist Gottfried von der Goltz is also the leader of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. He has released Bach's Partitas and Sonatas for Solo Violin and Violin Concertos to high acclaim, but this time he takes on the challenge of a collection of sonatas for solo violin with basso continuo. This time, however, he has taken up the challenge of writing a collection of sonatas with basso continuo, not the famous six sonatas BWV 1014-9, but three neglected sonatas and a fugue, which is very welcome. BWV.Anh153 in A major, which has long been attributed to Bach but has now been identified as Telemann's work, and a C minor sonata from the 1720s, whose author is unknown. It is also an unexpected pleasure to hear the Gavotte, which was written as the third movement of the Violin Sonata No. 6 in G major, BWV1019. It is a luxury to be able to enjoy Goltz's performance of a work that cannot be neglected in the reception and study of Bach. Anne-Katrin Beller on cello and Torsten Johann on harpsichord create an exquisite ensemble. King International
