The latest release from Nu Era, a project by Marc Mac, a well-known member of the Rum'n'Bass/Breakbeat legends 4 Hero, that explores aspects of Detroit techno that have influenced him throughout his life!
The new album was produced mainly using the Boutique series, a battery-powered, compact reproduction of the Roland synthesizers and drum machines that he has used since the 1990s, when he was actively working as 4 Hero. The project is an ambitious work that experiments with old-fashioned sounds, using the company's old 16-track mixer and other equipment to give the sounds a vintage finish.
The album features a wide range of tracks, from detroitish techno like "Soul Drumatix," "Inferno," and "Global Disillusion," with its appealing synth tone changes and refrains, to electro grooves that change the feeling of the track ": Illusion of Time" and others that are nostalgic in nature. The electro-groove of ": Illusion of Time" and the nostalgic synths of ": Time" make this a must-listen for fans of this type of sound!
