The two-volume reissue of Marguerite Long's performances will include all of the French repertoire she left behind, as well as Chopin, with the first volume to be released this time featuring Faure and Dandy! Marguerite Long was a personal friend of some of the greatest musicians of her day, including Debussy, Fauré, and Ravel, and played a major role in the development and enrichment of the French repertoire, premiering Ravel's "Piano Concerto in G major" and "Couperin's Tomb" and receiving a dedication of her "Improvisation No. 4" from Fauré. Marguerite Long. In addition to her international career as a pianist, she founded the "Gabriel Fauré Society" and the "Long-Thibault International Competition" and has written books on Debussy, Ravel, and Fauré.As an educator, she is also famous for her various accomplishments, including training world-class virtuosos such as François, Entremont, and Fevrier. The reissue of the first volume of Marguerite Long's recordings, "Faure & Dandy," was remastered by Mark Aubert-Sohn, a master engineer who has worked on a vast number of reissues to date.
