Ozzy Osbourne is one of the metal gods. In 2020, he was forced to stop his career due to the announcement of Parkinson's disease, but he overcame the disease and released a new album, "Patient Number 9," in 2022. In 2025, he announced his retirement concert as the original Black Sabbath and as a solo artist, which will be held on July 5 in Birmingham, England. However, he died of a heart attack 17 days later on July 22. Here comes the rare live archive of Ozzy Osbourne in the 1980s!
The "Blizzard Of Ozz Tour" started as a tour for Ozzy's first solo album "Blizzard Of Ozz," which was released in September 1980. The second half of the tour started on April 22, 1981 in Towson, Maryland, and ended on September 13, 1981 in Daytona Beach, Florida, for a total of 104 shows. The April 29 concert in Rochester, NY was recorded and broadcast for the popular American music radio program "King Biscuit Flower Hour.
This album is a live album based on the sound sources used for the broadcast, and the set list of the day includes the complete concert including encores and guitar and drum solos.
Ozzy left Black Sabbath in 1979 (fired) and started his solo career in the same year, where he met Randy Rhodes, a great talent. The live performances on this album are a must-see for fans and make us aware once again of Randy Rose's greatness as a guitarist. Incidentally, Lindsey Bridgewater, who participated only in the tour, played keyboards at the concert.
