Former Hawkwind bassist Lemmy Kilmister formed Motorhead to create a new kind of music. Their rare live archive is now available as an album! After being fired from Hawkwind, Lemmy Kilmister sought to form his own band. The band made its debut in 1977 with the eponymous album "Motorhead". The band steadily gained a following with each release, and 1979's "Bomber" was a hit, peaking at No. 12 on the UK Albums Chart. Following this, the band toured Europe for 82 shows between 1979 and 1980, including a concert in Nottingham, England on August 20, 1980, which was recorded and broadcast for a BBC radio program. This is a live album based on the recordings used for the broadcast, and includes a selection of their best songs, including cover songs and encores. The trio of guitar, bass, and drums delivers a live performance that perfectly establishes the band's future direction with a hard rock 'n' roll sound that blasts off at top speed as only Motorhead can. Included as a bonus track are eight additional songs from a rare live archive from 1982 featuring Brian Robertson (ex-Thin Lizzy) on guitar.
