Extreme is a hard rock band that skillfully incorporates funk beats and features the technical guitar playing of Portuguese guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. Their debut album, released in 1989, attracted a great deal of attention for its one-of-a-kind sound. The album "Pornograffitti" was released in 1990, and the ballad "More Than Words," which was cut as a single, reached No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart, and the album was a double platinum album. Extreme performed a showcase concert in Japan to promote their first visit to Japan on October 15, 1989, which was recorded and broadcast for TV/radio promotion and later aired on MTV in the US. This album is a live album recorded at the time of the broadcast and includes the complete set list of the concert.The powerful vocals of Gary Sherone, the technical guitar playing of Nuno Bettencourt, and the rock and funk rhythm section create a sound that is unique to this band. Included as bonus tracks are four additional songs from the band's 1991 London performance.
