Cheap Trick is a hard pop band formed in Chicago in 1974. The band achieved more success in Japan than in their home country of the U.S., and their live album "Cheap Trick At Budokan" released in 1978 was a huge breakthrough in their home country, making them one of the most popular bands in the world. Cheap Trick's first live album, which included a concert in Japan in April 1978, was a huge hit, reaching No. 4 on the U.S. album chart and earning a 3x platinum disc. The band returned to Japan in 1979 and toured the U.S. again after returning to Japan. The June 16 concert in their hometown of Chicago was recorded and broadcast for the popular American radio program "King Biscuit Flower Hour," and this is the first CD release using the broadcast recordings. The set list includes four encores(!). This live album is a complete recording of the concert.The band also performed two songs from their new album "Dream Police," which will be released later this year. The concert was held on the heels of the success of "Cheap Trick At Budokan," and the band's powerful and pop-oriented hard rock sound was on full display in a wonderful live performance.
