The sophisticated arrangement of her cover of Mariya Takeuchi's classic song "Plastic Love" sung in Japanese has made her stand out among artists who have covered the song, and her English-language vocals have also attracted listeners. It's been three years since 9m88's first album "Beyond Mediocrity" was released in 2019, and the release of their second album is finally confirmed! After the release of the previous album, which was highly acclaimed as a new generation NEO SOUL/R&B work from TaiwanIn 2021, 9m88 released "This Temporary Ensemble" (EP), a Jazz vocal work that could be called his starting point, while collaborating with a wide range of artists. 9m88 Radio" is the first release by 9m88.The diverse lineup of guests from around the world is also noteworthy, including Layton Wu, who has been active in Taiwan since his last album, as well as US artists who have established themselves with their organic sampling sounds and soulful lyrics based on SOUL and JAZZ. From the U.S., we have Oddisee, a rapper and producer from Washington, D.C., Silas Short, a SSW and multi-instrumentalist who is highly recommended by Stones Throw Records, the most important label on the U.S. West Coast, and K-POP idols such as BTS and Red Velvet, while also providing music for his own works. In addition, artists representing the club scene such as Mitsu the Beats and StarRo from Japan have contributed songs to 9m88. The music is produced by different producers with different styles, and the charm of 9m88 is fully demonstrated on this album.
