Chicago's premier blues guitarist, Carlos Johnson. Guitarist Hideaki Tanaka, influenced by Carlos's playing locally. These two have now completed a collaborative album, a deep and intimate exchange of their music! Chicago guitarist/singer Carlos Johnson, who has supported Otis Rush as his right-hand man since Rush suffered a stroke in 2004, and who also enjoys immense support from Japanese blues fans as a solo artist for his fiery performances. Japanese guitarist Hideaki Tanaka, who entered the music world inspired by Otis Rush, moved to Chicago in 1999, witnessed Carlos's live performance firsthand, received great stimulation and influence, and worked in the same city for four years. This album, where these two, who could be called master and disciple, face each other head-on, is now complete. From the instrumental opener "I Wonder Why" – a signature Otis Rush tune now carried on by Carlos – to the closer, Jimmy Reed's "You Don't Have To Go," which Carlos previously featured on a live album, the two engage in a deep guitar conversation. The result is a relaxed yet intensely rich album.
