This 1998 album features Weldon Irvin's sessions with Don Blackman and a young Marcus Miller from the late 70's onward! This is the world's first CD reissue of this masterpiece, which contains plenty of mellow jazz and soul, including the killer soul "Morning Sunrise" sampled by Jay-Z, Drake, and others! This 1998 album is a compilation of recordings that Weldon Irving made with Don Blackman, who he worked with at the same time, and a young Marcus Miller, but which had not seen the light of day for a long time. The album features Don Blackman's mellow soul "Morning Sunrise" (M5), which has been sampled by Jay-Z and Drake, as well as Marcus Miller's groovy bass and Tom Brown's sharp phrasing. The Sisters" (M1), a jazz funk song with a sharp fraying trumpet by Tom Brown, and "HeardIt All Before" (M10), a mellow fusion song with a sophisticated melody and feeling that is pleasant,Toni Smith, who is well-known as the vocalist of Thom Browne's signature song "Funkin' for Jamaica," a killer funk song that is synonymous with New York funk, sings positively and powerfully on the superb funky tune "Think I'll Stay A While" (M3). The album includes a number of songs that are no less than many classic songs, such as "Think I'll Stay A While" (M3), a funky tune with Toni Smith's positive and powerful voice. This is the world's first reissue in CD format!
