The "21st Century Music Society" was formed in 2000 by Representative Teruyuki Noda (currently Honorary Advisor) and 17 composers with the motto of "truly memorable music from the starting point of freedom without being bound by form or reputation". On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its founding, the society started to produce a CD featuring performances of works by its members. Please listen to the performances from 2013 to 2019. Akio Yaraoka (Composer/Conductor/Executive Producer)Born in Tokyo in 1958, Yaraoka received the first prize at the 49th Japan Music Competition in 1980, the Composition Prize at the Japan Symphony Foundation in 1982, and the Excellence Prize at the 1999 Art Festival. He is currently a trustee, vice president, and professor at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.As a conductor, he has premiered many works. He is the representative of the "21st Century Music Society. Masao Endo (Composer) was born in Tokyo. Completed the graduate course at Tokyo University of the Arts. He received a prize at the Japan Music Competition and the Special Prize for Encouragement of Creativity in Performing Arts from the Agency for Cultural Affairs. His numerous works have been performed in Japan and abroad. Currently, he is the chairman of the steering committee of the Japan-Russia Musicians' Association, and a member of the Japan Council of Composers and the Japan Contemporary Music Society. Satoshi Minami (Composer) was born in Tokyo in 1955. Completed the graduate course at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. He has lived in Hokkaido since 1986 and is a professor at Hokkaido University of Education until March 2021. He has released five CDs of his works. He has released five CDs of his works: "Zigzag Bach," "Kan Yugi," "Noon," "Subtilitas," and "Second Air..." He is currently a professor at Hokkaido University of Education, where he will remain until March 2021. Junmei Suzuki (Composition) completed his graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts. He studied composition at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, and completed the IRCAM training course (CURSUS). Artist-in-residence at the Agency for Cultural Affairs (1999-2001). Awarded the 24th Akutagawa Composition Award.Associate Professor of Composition, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, and Lecturer at Toho Gakuen School of Music. Hideki Kosakura (Composition) graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and completed the graduate course at the same university. He stayed in New York as an overseas trainee of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. He received a postgraduate diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Stockholm, and was awarded a scholarship from the Nomura Cultural Foundation. He received the Nomura Cultural Foundation Scholarship, the Japan Symphony Foundation Promotion Award, the Nagoya Culture Promotion Award, the 2nd Prize of the 1st Toru Takemitsu Composition Award (without the 1st Prize), the Agency for Cultural Affairs Performing Arts Encouragement Award, and the Berlin Prize for Science and Culture, among others. Rei Okajima (Composition) received his doctorate from Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Music. D. (Music). She received the Hasegawa Award and the Acanthus Music Award from the Tokyo University of the Arts. He was awarded the 23rd Japan Symphony Foundation Composition Award and the Nippon Foundation Special Encouragement Award. He is currently an associate professor at Tokyo College of Music and a part-time lecturer at Toho Gakuen School of Music and Tokyo University of the Arts. Camerata Tokyo
