The third album by Thomas Indermühle and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra features three oboe concertos composed in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, performed by the world-famous oboe player Thomas Indermühle and the Estonian Symphony Orchestra led by Trković. <Thomas Indermühle was born in 1951 in Bern, Switzerland, into a musical family. He studied under Heinz Holliger at the Freiburg State Conservatory and Maurice Burg in Paris. In 1974, he won the International Competition in Prague, and in 1976 he won the International ARD Competition in Munich. Since then, he has performed as a soloist in many European countries, as well as in the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea, and Australia. He is also active as a conductor and teacher of the Ensemble Coupland, which he presides over.Since 1984, he has been teaching oboe classes at the University of Music and Performing Arts Zurich, and since 1989, he has been invited to teach at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Karlsruhe. <Milan Trkovic was born into an Austrian-Croatian family and currently lives and works in Vienna. He has led orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Salzburg, and the Century Orchestra Osaka. As bassoonist, he was a founding member of the Ensemble Wien-Berlin and has been a member of the Vienna Konzentus Musiks and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. As a soloist, he has been invited to perform with numerous prominent symphony orchestras in almost every major city in the world. In the United States, he toured with Wynton Marsalis. Marsalis dedicated his bassoon and string quintet "Mielaan" to Turkowicz, a live performance of which is included on the Camerata Tokyo CD.He has also written three books, including one on the Wiener Konzentus Musiks, which was translated into Japanese in 2006.
