Banksia Trio has announced the release of a CD featuring 11 carefully selected tracks from their highly anticipated fourth studio album, The Great Noon! Following their previous live album, this release captures the current state of the Banksia Trio, now more refined than ever. Continuing the approach that earned high praise on their third album, MASKS—combining “analog recording on 16-track tape” with “mixing in a digital environment”—this album thoroughly pursues a “hybrid” sound that balances the warmth and resolution of analog with the depth of a modern mix. In addition to original songs honed during last year’s Australian tour, the album also features new tracks born from the recording sessions. The title, The Great Noon, derives from Nietzsche’s “Great Noon.” It symbolizes the moment when that spirit—liberated from old values and a sense of nihilism, fully affirming one’s own life—reaches its peak, vividly illuminating the current state of Banksia Trio.
