Colosseum

Description:

Includes the soundtracks from the phantom lost album "Upon Tomorrow"! The amazing excavation of live performances and demo recordings at Supershow is now available in Japan! Colosseum, a pioneering British progressive jazz-rock band, was formed in 1968 by drummer John Heisman, tenor saxophonist Dick Hector Smith, and bass player Tony Reeves, and made its live debut in the English seaside town of Scarborough. The band made its live debut in the English seaside town of Scarborough and recorded its first radio show, BBC Radio One's "Top Gear," earning critical acclaim and establishing itself on the scene with its album debut. DISC-1 contains a live performance from the Supershow session, a historic event held at Shepperton Studios in Staines, near London, on March 19, 1969, just two days before the release of Colosseum's debut album, "About To Die Salute You," which brought together the biggest names in jazz, blues, and rock. The recording features a live performance of the event. Also included is the soundtrack to the first short film "Coliseum and Juicy Lucy" featuring a rock band, produced on May 14, 1970 at the Kuester's Theatre in Ealing, London, featuring Chris Farlow on lead vocals. Also included. DISC-2 contains the lost album "Upon Tomorrow," which was unearthed from John Heisman's extensive archives and was originally made as the fourth album of the Coliseum at the end of the band's career, but was never released. The album includes the lost album "Upon Tomorrow", which was produced as Colosseum's fourth album at the end of the band's career, but was never released. Also included are three demo recordings made at Lansdowne Studios on August 1, 1971. This is truly a valuable collection for fans of Colosseum and British jazz-rock. The album comes with detailed liner notes by John Heisman biographer Martin Hanson, and was completely remastered by Temple Music Studios engineers EROC and Ru Lemer.
