It is produced and directed by Thomas Becker, a producer and artistic director who has been friends with Uematsu for over 20 years. Performed worldwide as a concert work that fuses orchestral music with storytelling, the series aims to present a new musical experience for the next generation of concertgoers. Uematsu’s latest work, *Meregnon: Heart of Ice*, is a “symphonic fairy tale” that unfolds through music and narration, based on a new original story by children’s author Frauke Anger. Each character is assigned an orchestral instrument and a unique melody (leitmotif), and the structure—in which music and story unfold as one—is a style that RPG fans will find familiar. The Japanese edition features a special narration by Rie Totsuka, a member of "Nobuo Uematsu conTIKI," the group led by Uematsu. For fans of video game music, this is a valuable edition that allows them to experience a new chapter of the "Uematsu Sound" with Japanese narration. The story is set in a kingdom sealed in ice. Kyugo, a small wooden robot with a heart, sets out on a journey to find his creator, Nuobi. It is a tale of courage and hope, as Kyugo attempts to restore warmth to a frozen world while facing the "Dancer of the Ice Wind," who rules over the eternal winter.
