Max Richter's ninth studio album, inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, took more than 10 years in the making. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 to address critical post-World War II world issues, was drafted by a group of philosophers, artists, and thinkers headed by Eleanor Roosevelt. In Voices, Richter attempts to integrate the preamble of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was recorded in 1949. At the beginning of the piece, Roosevelt's own voice is heard. The narration is provided by American actress Kiki Layne (2018 drama film "Lovers on Beale Street"), who complements the choral, orchestral, and electronic soundscape alongside Roosevelt and the crowd-sourced "voices of the people. narrated. Disc-1 will include the narrated version, and Disc-2 will include the "Voiceless Mix" version without narration.
