With the exception of a few operas and other works, there are no fade-outs or movement excerpts, and the series is based on the recording of all the movements of a single work. The performances are all masterpieces that can be recommended with confidence. An encore pressing of 40 selected titles. The two Bruckner symphonic masterpieces from the 1970s, when Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic were at the height of their powers, both spiritually and technically. No. 4 is a magnificent and uplifting performance that beautifully expresses the romanticism of the work. In No. 9, the sublimity of the composer's last work is naturally expressed with a quiet resignation in the midst of the intense amplitude of expression, inviting the listener to a deep emotional response.
