Description:
In Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, a music festival was held since the middle of the 19th century, and in 1887, the "Salzburg Music Festival" was started under the leadership of Hans Richter, but it was interrupted during World War I. The festival was reorganized by Max Reinhardt, who was the director of the festival. The director Max Reinhardt, Hoffmanstahl, Richard Strauss, Bruno Walter, and others actively participated in the festival, which gradually developed into a large music festival and continues to this day. Strauss was also an important composer for the Staatskapelle Dresden, as Ernst von Schiff, who was the general music director of the theater in the late 19th century, approached Richard Strauss and encouraged him to perform his operas, which were a great success. The performance is by Christiane B. Krisztian, who is the first woman to perform the opera. Performing are Christian Thielemann and the famous soprano Renée Fleming. At the Salzburg Festival, several songs, a scene from "Arabella," which was a hit for Fleming, and the Alpine Symphony.In Dresden, Strauss and Bruckner's Symphony No. 7, composed to mourn the death of Wagner, who had a deep connection to this region, were featured in the best program. The recording is also noteworthy for its realistic capture of the profound sound that Thielemann spins out.
