Amor non a riteño" by Simon Maile was first performed at La Scala in Milan in 1804. The production, set in Zamora, Spain, and featuring the best singers of the time, was a great success, and was later adapted into "La fedelta delle vedove" (The Fallen of the Vedove), which became even more popular. The story revolves around Luigia (Principessa), who has just lost her husband, the comical suitors who court her, and the Duca who schemes to win her heart. Duca disguises himself as a philosopher or a knight and approaches Luigia, eventually winning her love, and the two suitors, Morione and Frusbergo, are united with Luigia's maidens, Elena and Laurina, respectively, and the work finally ends with the chorus of "Amor non ha ritegno (Love has no hesitation)," which also gives the work its title. The work closes with the chorus of "Amor non ha ritegno" (Love has no hesitation), which also serves as the title of the opera. The role of Luigia in this production will be played by Korean soprano Ye Lee Soo, who is active in both baroque and contemporary music. She gives an expressive performance as a woman who is awakening to love.The role of Duca is played by the famous tenor Markus Schaefer, and Daniel Ochoa, known for his recordings of German lieder and cantatas, is cast as Morione. Niklas Marman is cast as Flusbergo, and his comical singing adds to the story. Franz Hauck and Concerto de Bassus, who are dedicated to introducing the works of Johann Simon Meyer, also give excellent performances. Naxos Japan
