Description:
Lord Berners (Lord Berners), English composer, novelist, and painter. His real name is Gerald Hugh Tyrwhitt-Wilson, the 14th Baronet of the prestigious Berners family. He studied at Eton College and worked as a diplomat before succeeding to the title. He was also a talented musician, and his "Neptune's Victory" on this album was written for Diaghilev's ballet company and choreographed by Balanchine. It is one of his masterpieces, whose ambitious music was praised by Stravinsky. The Man with the Mustache was commissioned by the Italian puppet company Balli Plastici. Casella and Malipiero also contributed new works to the suite, while other existing piano pieces by Bartók were arranged and used in parts. Other pieces include "Waltz in Bourgeois Style" and "Polka," skillfully orchestrated by Philip Lane. You can enjoy the tasteful and stylish music. Naxos Japan
