Conductor Natalie Stutzmann takes on Bruckner with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. A passionate “Romantic” symphony brimming with drama, drive, and lyricism! Natalie Stutzmann, who made her name as a contralto singer, studied conducting under the renowned Finnish maestro Jorma Panula and also received guidance from Seiji Ozawa and Simon Rattle. She was appointed Music Director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 2022, a historic achievement as only the second woman to hold the position of Music Director of a major American orchestra. Since 2021, she has also served as Principal Guest Conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and it has been announced that she will assume the role of Artistic Director and Music Director of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra in the fall of 2026. For her second recording with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Stutzman chose Bruckner’s popular “Romantic” Symphony. In recent years, she has placed Bruckner at the center of her concert repertoire, attracting significant attention from audiences and critics in Europe and the United States for her distinctive and passionate approach.
