The movie, "Mobile Suit Gundam: Senko no Hathaway," which opened on a nationwide roadshow on June 11, 2021, has been a smash hit, grossing over 2.1 billion yen (over 1 million viewers as of September 10, 2021). This is a sequel to the Space Century series directly following the novel of the same title written by Yoshiyuki Tomino, published in 1989, and the movie "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack," which depicts the decisive battle between Amuro and Char. The director is Shuukou Murase, who has worked as character designer on "New Mobile Suit Gundam W" and animation director on "Mobile Suit Gundam F91", and recently directed the internationally and domestically acclaimed "Slaughterhouse Organ". The script is written by Yasuyuki Muto of "Mobile Suit Gundam UC", and the film is produced on a grand scale and with high quality images befitting a Gundam theater film of the new era!
