A suspenseful masterpiece from the hit maker Paul Verhoeven, known for "Robocop" (1987), "Total Recall" (1990), "The Ice Smile" (1992) and "Starship Troopers" (1997), which was the largest production budget in Dutch cinema at the time. The film was selected to represent the Netherlands at the 2006 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film and was highly acclaimed around the world. It was released in Japan in 2007 and was introduced as a masterpiece of war drama following Spielberg's "Schindler's List" (1993) and Polanski's "The Pianist" (2002). The woman who throws herself into the resistance to avenge the murder of her family by the Nazis and the Nazi officer who eventually falls in love with her beyond his place. Love, trickery, and betrayal intertwine, and the film avalanches into a furious ending. The main character Rahel, who is a resistance fighter, is played by Carice van Houten, a Dutch nave. Sebastian Koch plays Munze, a Nazi officer who falls in love with Rahel.The HD master version is the first Blu-ray release in Japan!
