Description:
Resonance Records finally presents the official release of the Bill Evans Trio's 1973 live recording in Buenos Aires! Featuring Eddie Gomez (b) and Marty Morrell (ds), this is a limited edition 180g vinyl pressing with Japanese specifications. Includes a complete translation of the original booklet with previously unreleased photos! Resonance Records is proud to present two more live recordings of the Bill Evans Trio performing in Spain! This is the first official release with the cooperation of the Bill Evans Estate. Remastered from the original concert tape reel (broadcast) of the trio of Bill Evans (p), Eddie Gomez (b), and Marty Morrell (ds) performing live at Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 24, 1973. The three musicians made their first visit to Japan in 1973, and played 11 concerts in Japan. The live performance at Tokyo Postal Savings Hall is on sale. The songs on this album are also a parade of Evans' favorite songs. The album also features Eddie Gomez's arco solo in "MyRomance" and Marty Morrell's drum solo, which gives the album a lively atmosphere that only a live performance can provide. Of course, Evans' playing is also in top form. The booklet includes rare photos from the actual concert, essays by American author/journalist Mark Myers and Argentinean author Claudio Parisi, as well as recent interviews with Eddie Gomez, Marty Morrell, pianist Richie Baillyak, and more. The LP was mastered by the popular Bernie Grundman and pressed by Record Technology Inc. Although the recording is in mono, it was remastered from the original master tapes, and the thick, realistic sound of the three musicians is captured beautifully. It is also of interest to analog audio fans. The album "Inner Spirit: The 1979 Concert at the Teatro General San Martin, Buenos Aires" was also released at the same time. It is fun to compare the two albums. Includes complete translation of the original English liner notes (translation by Tamashige Terai). Commentary by Hiroki Sugita.
