Kremer and Jansons, the young collaboration is reissued! The "Melodiya x Obsession" series, which reissues old Melodiya albums and rare Melodiya recordings that have become obsolete or hard to find, is pleased to announce the reissue of the youthful collaboration between Gidon Kremer and Mariss Jansons, two world-class musicians born in Riga, Latvia, in the 1940s. The piece is a reissue of the original recording. At the time of recording, Kremer was still in his 20s. The recording includes Bach's Violin Concerto No. 2, the Violin Sonata (BWV 1023) and Sinfonia (BWV 1045) in the orchestral version arranged by Respighi, and the Violin Sonata (BWV 1023) with Mariss Jansons, who was the assistant conductor of the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra under Mravinsky at the time. The margin also includes the Grindenko Sonata (BWV 1045) in orchestral accompaniment. In the margins are recordings of the two musicians performing together with Grindenko and Meissenberg, as well as Ernst's difficult piece "Summer Roses" from the live recording of the Fourth International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1970, in which Ernst won. These rare performances from Kremer's Soviet period, which had become difficult to obtain in recent years, have been happily restored. Tokyo M-Plus
