Nickey And The God Saves
Description:
★God Saves, led by Nicky, releases a brand-new full-length album! ★Members who made a name for themselves in the Japanese punk scene have reunited!! ~Say goodbye to the Grim Reaper. Kiss the blue sky. As long as there’s life. Kiss the Sky~ ~I Awaken… Chromosomes XYZ. 4 Billion Years of Madness… Psycho Action~ Three Neo Warriors, guided by the God of Punk, have gathered under Nicky’s banner. After wrapping up the “GODSAVETHENICKEY” (1991) re-recording tour celebrating the album’s 35th anniversary, they dove straight into new recordings, riding that momentum. In 2026, the members gathered in an underground studio where new songs were born, and this miraculous new album has now been delivered. “Psycho Action” opens with an announcement from an evil android and is guided by a demonic guitar riff spiraling like a DNA helix. The incredibly pop-driven “Kiss the Sky.” “Silent Storm” and “Baby Rain,” written by TORUxxx and Nicky. “Mad Honey Is a Crazy Head,” where a massive, heavy riff drives that primal impulse. Also worth noting are “OPEN YOUR EYES” and “TONIGHT”—songs originally by Nicky & the Warriors—re-recorded for the first time in 35 years. ■NICKEYANDTHEGODSAVES■ ◆NICKEY: Vocals As the sole female vocalist representing the Japanese punk scene, she has been active with NICKEY & THE WARRIORS since the 1980s. She also worked as the exclusive model for the late illustrator Miyuki Morimoto. ◆TORUxxx: Guitar (THESTARCLUB/ACODISCO) He joined THESTARCLUB in 1990. With his versatile guitar work and wild stage presence, he has become a punk guitar master with maximum impact. In recent years, he has released CDs with his own band, ACODISCO, and continues to unleash unconventional vibes at live shows. ◆Noriaki “BLOOD” Tsuda: Bass (THEREDEMPTION/KEMURI) In the ’80s, he was part of the Kitakyushu-Kokura punk band Aggressive Dogs, and in 1995, he formed KEMURI. The band went on successful overseas tours. He is currently active as Tsuda BOSS, the leader of THEREDEMPTION. ◆ Mataro: Drums Originally from Osaka. Known for his glamorous, punk-inspired look. He has worked as a session drummer for many bands, including Willard, Koji Yoshikawa, and Heath (X JAPAN). Since 2018, he has also been active in numerous projects with Nicky.
