While Joachim Brügge studied music at the Lübeck College of Music and had a career as a musicologist at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, as a composer he has strong ties to American music, and his creations are also inspired by the works of Grieg and Brahms. In this album, "In the Spirit of Freedom," the theme is "freedom" and "creativity" in response to the crisis of modern society. In addition to Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, Whitman's poem, and Brahms' Violin Concerto, the album also includes Grieg's Holberg Suite, Sibelius' "The Swan of Tuonela," and Perrotin's orgamnu The orchestra quotes melodies from Grieg's Holberg Suite, Sibelius' "Swan of Tuonella," Perrotin's Orgamne, and others, and develops a diverse musical world in the spirit of its predecessors. Each piece features a soloist on trumpet, tenor, harmonica, and violin, each with a different narrative voice to stimulate the listener's imagination and deliver a story-like musical experience.
