Reinecke celebrates the 200th anniversary of his birth in 2024. Born the same age as Bruckner, but with a father who was a renowned music educator, Reinecke was one of the first to master music theory, and he demonstrated his precocious talent as a composer and pianist. He made a significant contribution to the world of music as a professor at the Leipzig Conservatory and conductor of the Gewandhaus Orchestra.There are three numbered symphonies, and the second symphony here was inspired by the tragedy "Hakon Yar" by Danish writer Adam Ehrenschlager. The four overtures and the "Dance under the Village Lime Tree" for the Gewandhaus Orchestra are of the same type. Together with the first album of this duo (555114), we now have three symphonies.
