ALPHA's signature orchestra, Café Zimmermann, has been releasing numerous masterpieces on the ALPHA label since its inception. As symbolized by their highly acclaimed series of Bach concertos and orchestral suites, their recordings of Baroque works have been prominent. Céline Frisch, a core member of the group since its foundation and an active soloist, plays harpsichord solo (fortepiano is also used in the bass part), and the guest is the talented Alexander Melnikov, a well-known guest on the group's Japan tour! The program includes two works each by C.P.E. Bach (the second son of the great Bach), the music director of Hamburg, and Mozart, who was creating masterpieces in Salzburg and Vienna at the time of his breakthrough.The concerto by C.P.E. Bach in his last years is a unique work in which two keyboard instruments are paired alongside the orchestra, and the soloists' different and brilliant solos can be fully appreciated, along with the differences in tone quality. In the rich wind section, Bozzillo on oboe and Le Schnadek on bassoon, who have also been active in Bach recordings, participate. In every piece, the spontaneity of each part and the sense of unity of the orchestra coexist in a mysterious way, and the depth of interpretation that allows the listener to listen to the music carefully is truly unique to Café Zimmermann. The careful work of master engineer Aline Blondio and the insightful commentary by Basel-born composer Turing Brehm make this a performance rich in suggestion and musicality that can be enjoyed to the full.
