Born in Prague, Leopold Anton (also known as Antonine) Kogelf was active in Vienna. He left behind numerous works, among which more than 60 piano trios are catalogued. This fourth collection includes three trios: one in D major, published in 1789, one in F major from 1798, and one in E flat major, which is considered an early work. The F major Trio is filled with familiar melodies, including Scottish and Irish folk melodies that were of interest to Cogelf at the time. The Trio 1790, which has been performing Kogelf's works for almost 20 years, gives a flowing performance that brings out the sound of the heyday of classical music. Naxos Japan
